George Finidi’s Rivers United are the current toppers of the Nigeria Premier Football League 2024/25; with seventeen (17) points, trailed by Remo Stars with fifteen (15) points, both have played seven (7) times.

In their previous top flight encounter, Rivers United discomfited Shooting Stars 2-0 on Thursday 17 October, 2024 at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium.
