National Grid Collapse: ‘Nigeria needs about 88,000 Megawatts of electricity to achieve a 24/7 electricity’ – NNG

Following national grid Collapse few days back, the Nigeria National Grid has come out to say, that, “Nigeria needs about 88,000 Megawatts of electricity to achieve a 24/7 electricity availability”.

2023 Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, has described the recent national grid collapse as a “national shame”, adding, it is a “glaring testament to the failure if leadership”.

According to Nigeria National Grid: “Nigeria needs about 88,000 Megawatts of electricity to achieve a 24/7 electricity availability.


We generate an average of 4,800 Megawatts at this time.”
