Israel V Hezbollah: ‘France will hold a conference in support of Lebanon and its sovereignty’ – President Macron

President of France, Emmanuel Macron, has announced, “France will hold a conference in support of Lebanon and its sovereignty”.

The French President said, “it is an essential cause.”

This is coming as citizens of Lebanon continue to flee the country following intense fighting between Israel and Hezbollah.

According to reliefweb.int, escalation in Lebanon has resulted to:

• 2,169 people killed and 10,212 injured since 8 October 2023 (MoPH).

• 689,715 persons internally displaced since 8 October 2023, of which 52% female and 48% male (IOM).

• 186,400 people seeking refuge in 1,023 collective shelters, of which 822 have already reached their maximum capacity (DRM).

• At least 94 health workers have been killed while on duty (WHO).

President Macron said: “France will hold a conference in support of Lebanon and its sovereignty on October 24, as it is an essential cause. Lebanon, a country greater than itself, carries a message of peace and diversity that is valuable to the entire region.”
