Israel V Hamas: One Year After – ‘The pain is still here, we will not forget the perished’ – Macron

President of France, Emmanuel Macron, has said, it is one year since the fighting in Gaza started and “the pain is still here.”

The French President added, “we will not forget the perished, the abducted, the pain of the Israeli people, pain of wounded humanity.”

The fighting in Gaza between Israel and Palestinian fighters, known as, Hamas, is exactly one year today, Monday 7 October, 2024.

It started after Hamas launched a surprise attack on the Southern region of Israel in the early hours of Saturday 7 October, 2023, killing hundreds of Israeli with many other taken hostage.

President Macron said: “Seventh of October.


The pain is still here, as acute as a year ago. The pain of the Israeli people. Our own pain. Pain of wounded humanity.


We will not forget the perished, the abducted, and the families whose hearts are broken from the absence or from the expectation of return. My thoughts are given to them in sympathy.”
