Presidential candidate of the Republican Party, Donald Trump, has sent some words of encouragement to the people of Florida State following “devastation” caused in the coastal state by Hurricane Milton.

The “extremely powerful storm” made landfall in Sarasota County, Florida on Wednesday 9 October, 2024.
The former US President expressed sadness following “devastation reported”, and thanked Governor Ron DeSantis for the “excellent job” he is doing to keep residents of the state safe.
Via a video, Trump said: “I am deeply sad by devastation reported. To those who have lost so much, you are not alone.
“Together we will rebuild, recover and come back stronger than ever before. Look out for one another because the sun will shine again.
“Governor DeSantis is doing an excellent job.
“God bless you all. Bless the great state of Florida.”
