The Governor added, “the 260 Smart Green Schools and 260 Primary Healthcare Centres are central to our economic vision for Enugu.”

According to Governor Mbah: “Today, during the onboarding programme for the 260 Ward Councillors on the State Project Management Team for Smart Green Schools and Primary Healthcare Centres, I was pleased to address our councillors and local government chairmen.

I charged them to take full ownership of our development projects through rigorous monitoring and by holding contractors accountable for both quality and timelines. We cannot afford to waste time, given the compelling social and economic challenges facing our communities.

The 260 Smart Green Schools and 260 Primary Healthcare Centres are central to our economic vision for Enugu. These projects, scheduled for completion by February 2025, will provide the skills and healthcare necessary to drive 21st-century productivity. By September 2025, every child in Enugu State will have access to a Smart Green School, ensuring a brighter future for our next generation.

“I reminded our councillors that true economic growth comes from the grassroots. As we work to grow Enugu’s economy from N4.4bn to N30bn, this progress will not come from the state alone but from our 17 LGAs and 260 wards. Our councillors must play a key role in attracting industries and fostering development in their localities.

I am confident that with our collective effort, we will achieve our vision for a prosperous and thriving Enugu State.”
