It was a walkover for Bayern Munich as they whitewashed their hosts, Mainz 05, by four (4) unreplied goals in the DFB Cup 2024/25 second round match at MEWA Arena on Wednesday 30 October, 2024.
Attacking midfielder, Jamal Musiala, netted a hat-trick and Leroy Sane scored one to help the Bavarians scale through to the next stage of the tournament.
In his post-Mainz 05 comments, Kompany said: “we are through to the next round. The boys were hungry. We are excited for every game.”
