Talking about her upcoming film, ‘Lee’, to BBC, the ‘Titanic’ star said, it was her job to be like her character – Elizabeth ‘Lee’ Miller, a fashion model who became an acclaimed World War II photographer.
Winslet said, “she wasn’t lifting weights or doing Pilates. She was eating cheese, bread and drinking wine, and not making a big deal of it. So of course, her body would be soft.”
Women should celebrate “being a real shape, being soft and maybe having a few extra rolls.
“It’s interesting how much people do like labels for women. Life is too short. I don’t want to look back and go ‘why did I worry about that thing’ and so guess what – I don’t worry anymore”, she said.
Kate Winslet clinched global stardom following her leading role in James Cameron’s epic romance Titanic (1997), which was the highest-grossing film at the time.
She has received numerous awards including, a Grammy award, five (5) Golden Globe awards among others.
