Russia-Ukraine: ‘To keep the world safe, we must keep Ukraine sovereign and secure’ – US Secretary of Defense Austin

Lloyd Austin, Secretary of Defense of the United States (US), said, the world can only be “safe” when Ukraine is kept “sovereign and secure”.

The fighting between Russia and Ukraine started in February, 2022 following Russia’s invasion.

The US Secretary of Defense announced, “additional security assistance for Ukraine which will surge more capabilities to meet Ukraine’s evolving requirements.”

According to Lloyd Austin: “Today, 

@GenCQBrownJr and I will meet with our counterparts from nearly 50 nations to discuss our mutual support for Ukraine’s fight for freedom. Our message today is clear: to keep the world safe, we must keep Ukraine sovereign and secure.


“Today, we announced additional security assistance for Ukraine. This package will surge more capabilities to meet Ukraine’s evolving requirements, to include additional support for Ukraine’s air defense and artillery needs.”
