Romania’s decision to help Ukraine with this “significant contribution” following “Russia’s missile strikes on Lviv”, is to help in “strengthening the protection of our skies” as well as “protect people from Russian aggression in Ukraine”.

The Ukrainian President said, “Russian missile strikes killed 7 people in Lviv.”

According to President Zelenskyy: “I am deeply grateful to President @KlausIohannis, the Government, and Parliament of Romania for their decision to provide Ukraine with the Patriot system.

This is a significant contribution to strengthening the protection of our skies, our citizens, and civilian infrastructure from Russian missile terror, as well as a powerful testament to the true friendship and strategic partnership between our countries.

Every decisive action like this saves countless lives, and we are grateful to all our partners who take strong steps in countering Russian terror.

While actively working to protect people from Russian aggression in Ukraine, this air defense system not only safeguards our nation but also enhances long-term security for our partners and the entire region. This is leadership that benefits us all.”
