Following the unfortunate incident that occurred to Ugandan marathoner, Rebecca Cheptegei, an X user (@UsherKomugisha) has raised the red flag against “domestic violence”, saying, it “has no place in our society and for top female athletes”.

Cheptegei, who represented her country, Uganda, at the Paris 2024, which was her first time at the Olympics, was set ablaze by her boyfriend in Kenya, as disclosed by Police.
The Ugandan athlete resides in Kenya.
@UsherKomugisha went ahead to name other athletes who have suffered “domestic violence”, saying, “two Kenyans Agnes Tirop (2021) and Damaris Mutua (2022) who were killed by partners in Iten, Kenya”.
According to the tweet by @UsherKomugisha which was reposted by Nigerian reality TV star and lawyer, Cynthia Nwadiora AKA Cee-C: “Domestic violence has no place in society and for top female athletes, it is becoming increasingly fatal especially with jealous partners.
