Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) Judea and Samaria and towards the Gaza Strip disclosed, “third stage of the Polio vaccination campaign in northern Gaza began today.”

It further disclosed, “approx. 70,000 children under 10 will be receiving the vaccine.”
“Over 187 000 children under ten years of age were vaccinated with novel oral polio vaccine type 2 (nOPV2) in central Gaza during the first phase of a two-round polio vaccination campaign, conducted between 1–3 September 2024”, the World Health Organization (WHO) said, via who.int.
According to un.org: “The second phase of a two-round campaign to vaccinate over half a million young children in Gaza against polio began in Khan Younis on Thursday, the UN agency that assists Palestine refugees, UNRWA, said in a post on the social media platform X, formerly Twitter.”
After a quarter of a century, Polio reemerged in Gaza; it was detected in July, 2024.
According to COGAT: “The third stage of the Polio vaccination campaign in northern Gaza began today.
Approx. 70,000 children under 10 will be receiving the vaccine in designated health centers and clinics.
Later today, the daily assessment will be held with our partners at
@WHO and @UNICEF.”
