2023 Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, said, he is “deeply devastated” over the sad news of the “heartbreaking loss” of Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, First Lady of Akwa Ibom State.

The former Vice President said, “Mrs. Umo Eno was a remarkable woman who devoted herself tirelessly to the service of humanity and her family”, and prayed “for the gentle repose of her soul”.
According to a statement by the Government of Akwa Ibom, Mrs. Eno died on Thursday 26 September, 2024 “following an illness.”
Atiku wrote: “I condole with the family of Governor @_PastorUmoEno, and the government and people of Akwa Ibom State, over the heartbreaking loss of the First Lady, Her Excellency Mrs. Patience Umo Eno.
The news of her passing, which I received early today, has left me deeply devastated.
Mrs. Umo Eno was a remarkable woman who devoted herself tirelessly to the service of humanity and her family.
I share in the grief of the people of Akwa Ibom and urge Governor Eno to stand strong in the belief that his beloved wife has found rest in a place of eternal peace.
As I pray for the gentle repose of her soul, I also affirm that I stand with the governor and the people of Akwa Ibom in this difficult time.”
