Catherine Russel, Executive Director of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), said, due to “war and violence, nearly all children in Gaza and Sudan are out of school”.

She included Haiti, Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo) as well as Ukraine among countries where children no longer have access to schools as a result of “war and violence”.
According to Russell: “Nearly all children in Gaza and Sudan, and many others including in Haiti, the DRC and Ukraine, are out of school because of war and violence.”
