James Earl Jones Passes: Star Wars actor dies at 93

Ameeican actor, James Earl Jones, whose sonorous tones gave voice to Star Wars’ principal villain Darth Vader, has passed at the age of 93.

He died at his home in Duchess County, New York City, as announced by his representatives.

Among those to pay tribute to James was Creator of Star Wars, George Lucas, who described Jones “an incredible actor, a most unique voice both in art and spirit”.

Mark Hamill, who played Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader’s son, wrote on social media: “RIP dad.”

Kevin Costner, Jones’ co-star in Field of Dreams, wrote: “That booming voice. That quiet strength. The kindness that he radiated. So much can be said about his legacy, so I’ll just say how thankful I am that part of it includes Field of Dreams.”

No cause of death has been provided.
