This statement is coming following the “escalation” between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon.
The fighting between Israel and Hezbollah has brought about “civilian deaths and widespread terror”, the UN said.
The diplomatic and political international organization saddled with the mission of maintaining international peace and security called for “maximum restraint from all sides”, warning, “civilians are not a target”.
According to the UN: “Wars have rules that must be respected by all sides.
Civilians must be protected – at all times and in all places.
They are #NotATarget.
“Middle East: Hundreds of strikes have resulted in civilian deaths and widespread terror, increasing tensions on all sides.
The UN is calling for maximum restraint to avoid further escalation which could lead to even greater loss of life and suffering.”
