On Thursday, a South Florida man in court during a hearing where he was sentenced to life in prison screamed at the widow of the man he killed, a 2015 murder that resulted to a dispute over dog poop.

75-year old Omar Rodriguez lashed out at Lissette Rey, who was married to Jose Rey, who Rodriguez shot fatally almost a decade ago in an argument over Rey’s dog defecating on Rodriguez’s son’s lawn.
Rodriguez yelled in court, “the coward was your husband. That’s why I killed him! … He cried like a baby.”
Bruce Lehr, Rodriguez’s attorney, said, “This started with a community ganging up and hating the defendant in this case. And the hatred on all sides boiled over into an unfortunate death.
“The emotions continue to run deep, and they flared at sentencing. … I hope everyone remembers the circumstances.”
