The Olympic flag is officially on its way to Los Angeles (LA), United States (US).
Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, handed over the Olympic flag officially to the Mayor of Los Angeles (LA), Karen Bass, in the presence of Thomas Bach, IOC President, on Sunday 11 August, 2024 at the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games Paris 2024.
Paris 2024 which started on Friday 26 July, 2024 had the USA emerge winner of the Games with a total of 126 medals, including 40 Gold; and closely followed by China, who clinched a total of 91 medals, including 40 Gold; and Japan finished third with a total of 45 medals, including 20 Gold.
China’s Zhang Yufei, 26-year old swimmer, emerged the athlete with the highest number of medals, totalling six (6).
