North Korea has no intention to call for foreign assistance to recover from floods that wrecked havoc in areas close to the country’s border with China, Leader Kim Jong Un said as he gives order to officials to evacuate thousands of displaced residents to the capital to provide them better care.

Kim said, it would take about two to three months to rebuild homes and bring stability to the areas affected by floods.
Until then, Kim’s government plans to accommodate more than 15,000 people, encompassing mothers, children, older adults and disabled soldiers, at facilities in Pyongyang, as disclosed by North Korea’s official Korean Central News Agency on Saturday.
State Media reports said, heavy rains towards the end of July left thousands of homes, acres of agricultural lands and many other public structures, roads and railways flooded in Sinuiju, northwestern city, and neighbouring town of Uiju.
