United States (US) Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, announced he “spoke with Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and discussed ongoing efforts to negotiate a ceasefire agreement.”

This is coming as fighting between Israel and Hamas continues with Palestinian people suffering as tens of thousands of them have been killed.
The US Secretary of State said, the discussion “would alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people and secure the release of the hostages.”
According to Blinken: “I spoke with Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and discussed ongoing efforts to negotiate a ceasefire agreement that would alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people and secure the release of the hostages to return to their families.”
