David Lammy, Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, has criticized Israel’s “strike on Al-Tabeen school” which resulted to “tragic loss of life”.

On Saturday 10 August, 2024, Israel struck the Al-Tabeen school which has been turned to shelter for Palestinians, killing at least 80 with many more sustain various degree of injury.

He warned, “Israel must comply with international humanitarian law.”

Lammy said, he feels “appalled” following the military action by Israel on the school-turned-shelter, and called for “immediate ceasefire to protect civilians, free all hostages, and end restrictions on aid”.

According to Lammy: “Appalled by the Israeli Military strike on al-Tabeen school and the tragic loss of life.


Hamas must stop endangering civilians. Israel must comply with International Humanitarian Law.


We need an immediate ceasefire to protect civilians, free all hostages, and end restrictions on aid.”
