X user (@fomax112) tweeted: “InibeheEffiong, The past activists in Nigeria didn’t belong to any political party they were just fighting for good governance. Activists are always natural in politics without taking sides.

You have lost your credibility a long time ago. You might fool yourself by denying your party affiliation but toddlers of yesterday know which party you belong to.”

Inibehe Effiong quoted @fomax112 ‘s tweet and commented: “Revisionist History.

Gani Fawehinmi, whose foundation we’re planting on, formed a political party known as the National Conscience Party (NCP), and led the legal battle for the liberalization of political party registration in Nigeria up to the Supreme Court and won. See the case of Balarabe Musa & Ors. V. INEC.

He also contested for President in 2003 and sadly, Nigerians like you did not give him the much needed support.

Gani was never politically neutral, he was an active participant and always took a side.

By the way, he was the fiercest opponent of Mr. Bola Tinubu, the man you idolize.

Gani also went to prison for “contempt of court” and sacrificed so much for Nigeria.

Those you defend today hated him ferociously the same way you hate me.

Ours is a country that vilifies her heroes and celebrates villains.

I don’t need anyone’s validation.

I have been doing whatever I am doing now from my first year in the University. Ask those who were in the University of Uyo and the Faculty of Law in particular during my time.

The way I oppose the rottenness at the federal level, is the same way I oppose the rottenness in my State. I believe my own State Government and politicians in my State even hate me more than those in Abuja.

The suggestion that activists are always politically neutral is false and not backed by history; whether in Nigeria or any part of the world.

Activists know that political decisions and choices affects everything.

Keep your silly revisionism to yourself.”
