Wolfsburg will host Bayern Munich at the Volkswagen Arena in the Bundesliga 2024/25 match on Sunday 25 August, 2024 at 14:30 (WAT).

According to fcbayern.com, at the press conference ahead of the top flight encounter, Eberl said:

On the favourites for the title:

“Leverkusen fully deserved to be champions last season. They’re one of the favourites again but they’re not the only one. You’ve got Dortmund, Leipzig, Stuttgart and there’s always a surprise package. We want the Meisterschale to come back straight back to Munich.”

On negotiations compared to his previous clubs:

“The negotiations are essentially no different – you talk about sport and transfer fees. The noise around it and the spotlight are obviously bigger.”

On the state of the squad after injuries:

“When you plan a squad, you obviously envisage it without injuries. It’s not good to have a bloated squad. We also want to give our young players the opportunity to showcase themselves. Vinni is working very well with them. Obviously it’s not nice that with Stani and Hiroki Ito, we’ve got a new signing and a returnee injured.”

On the transfer of Matthijs de Ligt:

“We have to decide on where we have the feeling of getting the greatest possible success. We’ve made decisions together with Vincent. Matthijs delivered very solid performances. We wanted an additional left-footer, which is why we signed Hiroki Ito. We’ve made decisions and that’s why we have the squad that we have.”
