2023 Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, has sent his best wishes to Team Nigeria “as they fly our national flag at the 2024 Paris Olympics”.

The former Governor of Anambra State wrote: “Nigeria is known for greatness and victory”, urging them to “strive to bring home the trophies”.
The Olympic Games Paris 2024 officially kicked off on Friday 26 July, 2024 with a beautiful opening ceremony.
Obi wrote: “I like to extend my sincere best wishes to the Nigerian contingent to the 2024 Olympic Games in the French capital, Paris. Drawn from across different sporting events, our dear nation will be represented by 88 athletes.
“May I humbly remind them that Nigeria is known for greatness and victory. We are talented, resilient, determined and courageous in the face of competition. As they fly our national flag at the 2024 Paris Olympics,
“I urge the athletes and their coaches to hold onto our spirit of strength and victory and strive to bring home the trophies. I wish them safe and injury-free days. Our kind thoughts and full support are with them.”
