Centrist Masoud Pezeshkian has clinched victory at Iran’s Presidential Election run-off against hardline conservative Saeed Jalili, the Interior Ministry announces.

An official count of votes placed Pezeshkian as the winner with 16.3m ballots to Jalili’s 13.5m.
As made known via official figures, Voter turnout in the second round stood at 49.8%.
Originally, the election was scheduled for 2025, however, was brought forward following the demise of President Ebrahim Raisi, who died in a helicopter crash in May.
