Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, swears in 10 new judges |
He announced the “swearing in 10 new Judges (seven for the High Courts and three for the Customary Courts of Appeal)”, and “urged the Justices to uphold integrity and honor, stressing that the judiciary is under intense public scrutiny”.
Governor Uzodimma said: “I have always prioritized the judiciary’s welfare and upheld the institution because by virtue of their roles, the society depends on justice for stability, hence they must be supported in carrying out their responsibilities with utmost seriousness and ethical conduct.
Having been found worthy by NJC, I had the honor of swearing in 10 new Judges (seven for the High Courts and three for the Customary Courts of Appeal), and I emphasized the importance of integrity, dignity, and the fear of God in their duties.
I urged the Justices to uphold integrity and honor, stressing that the judiciary is under intense public scrutiny and they must conduct themselves impeccably, as they are the last hope of the common man. In supporting them as a society, we must avoid pressuring the Judges, allowing them to fulfill their duties impartially and effectively.”
