PM Trudeau meets Pope Francis, plead for return of cultural objects from Vatican to Canada

Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, has expressed joy after meeting with Pope Francis, Head of the Catholic Church, and Bishop of Rome, as he “thanked His Holiness for working toward reconciliation”.

The Canadian PM used the opportunity to plead with the Pope for the return of cultural objects from the Vatican to Canada.

PM Trudeau said: “Today I had the privilege of meeting His Holiness on @Pontifex .


“I thanked His Holiness for working toward reconciliation and pleaded for the next step: returning cultural objects from the Vatican to the indigenous peoples of Canada.”
