The newly crowned Kings of Germany will fight for the trophy in the final of the Uefa Europa League 2023/24 against Atalanta at Aviva Stadium, Dublin, Republic of Ireland at 20:00 (WAT) on Wednesday 22 May, 2024.
In his press conference ahead of the UEL 2023/24 final, Alonso said: “#Alonso on our final opponents: “Atalanta are one of the hardest team to play in Europe. They have a super mentality and coach who has a clear plan and a large squad. They deserved to be there after beating the teams that they did on the way. We are expecting a tough final.
“We can’t wait to play in the final. It’s a huge chance for us. Already having won the Bundesliga gave us a little more focus on the other competitions. Although, the Bundesliga is not finished and we will respect Augsburg. We still have our own goals on how we want to end the season.”
On Florian Wirtz, Alonso said: “Flo is feeling better, we spoke today. We need look at it day by day and see how he feels. There’s not a risk of a serious injury but he has some pain. We will see how he is tomorrow.”
