New York, US: ‘This act of h*te is disgusting and offensive’ – Governor Hochul

New York State Governor, Kathy Hochul, has said, the Hochul-administration “will continue to root out Islamophobic hate in every corner of our state”.

The Governor’s statement is coming following a tweet by New York Daily News (@NYDailyNews): “A stranger mocked a teen girl for wearing a hijab on a Midtown Manhattan street and ripped it off her head.


““You don’t need to be wearing that here,” he yelled.”

Governor Hochul quoted @NYDailyNews tweet and commented: “This act of hate is disgusting and offensive.


“All New Yorkers deserve to walk the streets safely, and we will continue to root out Islamophobic hate in every corner of our state.”
