This is “roughly the size of Switzerland”.
The East African country used to be covered in forest.
According to BBC News Africa: “Almost half of Mozambique is covered in forest but in the last two decades, the country has lost four million hectares of its tree cover – roughly the size of Switzerland.
“One area particularly affected is Chimanimani, a region in Western Mozambique.”
