The bodies of the abductees Yitzhak Gelanter, Shani Lock and the late Amit Buskila were recovered tonight (Friday) in a joint operation by the IDF and Shin Bet.
From verified intelligence information in our possession, Yitzhak Gelranter, Shani Lock and the late Amit Buskila were murdered during the brutal terrorist attack on October 7 in the Mefalim siege, and their bodies were kidnapped to Gaza by Hamas terrorists.
The bodies of the abductees were recovered during a joint operation by the IDF forces and the Shin Bet’s operational unit, based on information that also emerged in the Shin Bet’s investigations of terrorists arrested in the Gaza Strip and on the intelligence guidance of the Captives and Missing Persons Command of the Intelligence Division.
After an identification procedure carried out by medical officials at the National Institute of Forensic Medicine and the Ministry of Health, IDF representatives notified their families during the day.
The IDF and Shin Bet share in the grief of the families at this difficult time.
The IDF spokesman calls on the public to refrain from spreading unfounded rumors and information, and to listen to the official announcements.
The IDF and the Shin Bet continue, even at this time, in using all operational and intelligence measures, while taking operational risks, in order to realize the supreme national mission of returning all the abductees.
