Xabi Alonso’s side have achieved a feat so “historic” after a 2-1 victory over Augsburg in the last top flight match of the season at BayArena on Saturday 18 May, 2024.
Nigerian sharpshooter, Victor Boniface, opened scoring for the Black and Reds in the 12th minute and Robert Andrich added the second in the 27th minute before 18-year old, Mert Kömür, pulled one back for Augsburg in the 62nd minute.
