Biblical Loyalty: Part 9a – Pretence – ‘…I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity’

Memory Verse: Matthew 7:23 – “And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”

Matthew 7:23
Matthew 7:23

The extreme difference of Truth is Pretence!

The word of God admonishes us to hold on to the Truth and never let go. Proverbs 23:23 says, “Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.”

There is no gain in being hypocritical about serving the Almighty God because in the end he’ll push you away and tell you “I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity”.

Serving God should not be stained with any iota of pretence; being loyal to the King of Kings is expected to be 100% – there is plenty of reward for loyalty.

Pretence In The Church

There is a lot of unbelievable things happening in the Church today, that’s why it has reached the stage where one is expected to build a personal relationship with God and know God for oneself.

Currently, in the Church, there are so many pretenders. The Truth is, the Church is under attack, however, if the Church can humble herself and pray, God is more than mighty to deliver and revive.

These pretenders enter the Church for their personal and selfish gains, that’s all! They present themselves in “sheep’s clothing”, however, “inwardly they are ravening wolves”.

Matthew 7:15 says, “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.”

These are people who twist the word of God so that it can tally with their selfish mission, and then, they can harvest for themselves alone – and they do these things using the name ‘Jesus’.

This is Pretence at its peak! But, God will definitely judge!!

No matter how well and good a person can pretend to serve God, know this, God’s foundation stands solid, and He knows those that are His – Keep this in mind!

2 Timothy 2:19 says, “Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”

And to the Christian that is running his race without pretence, ensure to not join the pretenders in their ways. The Bible says, “Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity”.

The above scripture simply means, do not join the multitude to commit sin, instead remain unwaveringly loyal to God, and you can only achieve this by building a personal relationship with God.

Exodus 23:2 says, “Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shalt thou speak in a cause to decline after many to wrest judgment:”

• Consequences Of Pretence in Part 9b!

Conclusion:

God knows His. No matter one’s greatness in pretence, whatever a man sows, he reaps!

Prayer:

May God help us to be genuinely loyal to Him!

Feel free to share this Truth. The word of God is nothing but the Truth. And only the Truth shall set us free.
