A violin case belonging to the man who led the orchestra on deck as the ship went down in 1912 is expected to fetch more than £120,000.

Also, a gold pocket watch belonging to one of the world’s richest men at the time has a guide price of £100,000 to £150,000.

Both items have attracted interest from around the world and auctioneer Andrew Aldridge said the timepiece was “one of the most watched items online” in the auction house’s history.
