Thanks to a hat-trick from English midfielder, Phil Foden, Pep Guardiola’s side clinched all three points, however, remain third.
Spanish manager, Guardiola, left key players, Erling Braut Haaland and Kevin de Bruyne, on the bench following weekend clash against Arsenal which finished without a goal at Etihad Stadium.
Rodri opened scoring for the Citizens early, in the 11th minute, but, the Villans fought back and levelled nine (9) minutes later through Jhon Duran.
On the stroke of half time, Foden restored Man City’s lead, and added a third for the hosts in the 62nd minute.
The Englishman went further to clinched his hat-trick, the fourth for City which sealed victory in the 69th minute.
With this result, Manchester City remain third with 67 points, same as second-placed Liverpool. The Reds are ahead with goal difference.
