Simi said: “Politicians throwing “gifts” at a crowd of people chasing after them, people who are suffering so much, they don’t realize or care how humiliating it is makes my heart hurt so bad.
“Gifts” that won’t last past that day. “Gifts” that would only dare feed a couple of mouths in their home – and once.
“Gifts” that they unknowingly, and sometimes, unavoidably exchange for their futures.
They go home with their gifts and nothing’s changed. Still suffering. With a little less dignity than yesterday, and still, suffering.”
