According to the Kwara State Government (X/@followKWSG): “Days ago, Kwara State received her medal in the health sector from UNICEF for being the best in North Central.

CON has released the following funds for another set of people-oriented health initiatives.
1. Release of funds for the indigent component of the Kwara State Health Insurance Programme
2. Release of funds for free State-wide Medical and Surgical outreaches
3. Payment of Counterpart funds to avail Immunization for all Kwara children
4. Payment of Counterpart fund to enhance Nutritional support to adolescent, lactating mothers, women in child bearing age and under-five children
5. Payment of Counterpart fund for the IMPACT Support Programme
6. Release of funds for Basic Health Care Provision Fund in both the Primary Healthcare and Insurance gateways
7. Release of fund which qualified 1 PHC per 193 wards for service delivery, thus making healthcare service accessible across the 16 LGAs
7. Release of funds for Malaria Elimination Programmes to enhance both Net provision and preventive drugs for children in hospitals across the state.
8. Review of salaries of ALL HEALTH WORKERS to make service providers available to render quality services.
The Governor is also set to commence the following projects in the health sector:
1. Establishment of Kwara State University Teaching Hospital.
2. Construction of new Clinic wards across the state.
3. Expansion of the maternity unit at Civil Service Clinic.
4. Expansion of 13 hospitals across the state.”
