On Wednesday 21 February, 2024, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) disclosed, one soldier has been killed and two others seriously wounded as intense fighting ignited again in Northern Gaza.

Previously, the military said, it had hugely completed its main operation to destroy Hamas forces based there.
The soldier was named as Staff Sgt. Avraham Wovagen, 21 years old, of the Nahal Brigade’s 932nd Battalion, from Netanya.
With his death, the toll of Israeli troops killed in the ground offensive against Hamas has reached 237.
Separately, a troop of the 932nd Batallion as well as a Reservist of the 636th Combat Intelligence Collection Unit were wounded seriously by an anti-tank missile in Northern Gaza.
