Any practice, belief or tradition that goes contrary to God or His Commands is False Religion. It is based on myths, philosophies made by man.
This is the worship of anything except God, encompassing any kind of religion that stands against the glory and majesty of God. The Bible criticizes strongly both the practice and belief of false religion.
More about False Religion:
1. Worship Of Man-Made Images: Acts 17:29 – “Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device.”
2. Worship Of Created Things: Romans 1:25 – “Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.”
3. Worship Of Worldly Authorities: 1 Corinthians 10:20 – “But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils.”
4. Practice Of Immorality: 1 Kings 14:23-24: “For they also built them high places, and images, and groves, on every high hill, and under every green tree. And there were also sodomites in the land: and they did according to all the abominations of the nations which the Lord cast out before the children of Israel.”
5. It Ensures People Don’t Find The Truth: 2 Corinthians 4:4 – “In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”
6. It Enslaves: Galatians 4:3 – “Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world.”
God visits those that practice false religion with His wrath. Jeremiah 16:18 – “And first I will recompense their iniquity and their sin double; because they have defiled my land, they have filled mine inheritance with the carcases of their detestable and abominable things.”
