Massive earthquakes have struck Japan leading to the death of at least forty-eight (48) people.

Emergency services are facing difficulty in rescuing those who could be trapped under rubble.
All warnings of tsunami have been reduced as of this morning (Tuesday 2 January, 2024), however, there are warnings of possible further tremors.
According to news.sky.com:
Most of the roads leading to Wajima city have been left impassable after the quake registered an intensity of upper six in the area.
Twenty-five buildings collapsed, 14 of which may have people trapped inside, fire department officials have said.
