Chelsea defeated Brighton 3-2 in the Premier League 2023/24 match on Sunday 3 December, 2023 at Stamford Bridge despite playing with ten (10) men after Conor Gallagher was red carded in the 45th minute.
Fernandez opened scoring for Chelsea in the 17th minute and went ahead to record his brace, the third goal of the encounter for the hosts in the 65th minute from the penalty spot.
Both goals were Fernandez’ first Premier League goals for Chelsea.
Levi Colwill netted the second for Mauricio Pochettino’s side as he successfully converted an assist from Nicolas Jackson in the 21st minute.
Argentine attacking midfielder, Facundo Buonanotte, scored the first goal for the Seagulls in the 43rd minute, and Joao Pedro scored the second for Roberto de Zerbi’s side in the 2nd minute of additional time.
