Chelsea and Manchester City finished 4-4 in the Premier League 2023/24 match on Sunday 12 November, 2023.
Erling Braut Haaland opened scoring for Pep Guardiola’s side in the 25th minute from the penalty spot, however, 39-year old defender, Thiago Silva, who emerged Chelsea’s oldest goalscorer netted the leveller for the hosts in the 29th minute.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side went ahead in the 37th minute through former Guardiola’s forward, Raheem Sterling.
Manuel Akanji equalized for the Citizens just before half time, and Haaland score two (2) minutes into the second half to take the visitors ahead.
Nicolas Jackson who netted a beautiful hat-trick against Tottenham Hotspur, levelled for Chelsea in the 67th minute, but then, Rodri scored what looked like a winner for Manchester City in the 86th minute.
In the 5th minute of additional time, Cole Palmer scored for Chelsea.
Former Manchester City defender, Micah Richards said: “That was exceptional. It was fantastic. It had everything – goals, bad defending and tackles.
“Cole Palmer was outstanding, showing his worth. If you were a spectator, you got your money’s worth.”
According to Chelsea Football Club: “Thiago Silva becomes Chelsea’s oldest scorer with his fine header today!”
