Major Moshe was a “father of 6 children and a loving husband, a brave and courageous warrior”, the Israeli PM said.
Several Israeli soldiers have been killed in the fighting between Palestinian fighters known as Hamas and Israel which started on Saturday 7 October, 2023 after Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel.
The surprise attack by Hamas on Israel resulted to the killing of hundreds of Israelis with several others taken hostage.
PM Netanyahu said: “Benihum mourns with the family of the Sheldag fighter, Major Moshe Yedidia Leiter.
“Moshe was the father of 6 children and a loving husband, a brave and courageous warrior. He served his soldiers as a beacon of values and a personal example – always first to the task, always first to attack.
“God avenge his blood. We will defeat Hamas – until the end. Of blessed memory.”
