Attack On Israel: President Biden sends urgent budget to Congress to fund America’s national security needs

United States (US) President, Joe Biden, has sent an urgent budget to Congress to fund America’s national security needs.

According to the White House, “the investment will strengthen U.S. security for generations.”

The investment will “support Israel’s defense against terrorism”, as well as “defend Ukraine against Russian aggression”.

Israel is currently “at war” with Palestinian militants known as Hamas, as announced by Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday 7 October, 2023 after Hamas struck Israel by surprise.

Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel in the morning of Saturday 7 October, 2023, killing hundreds of Israelis and taking several others hostage.

The White House said: “President Biden is sending an urgent budget request to Congress to fund America’s national security needs, support our allies and partners, and strengthen our border security.


“This investment will strengthen U.S. security for generations and help us build a more peaceful world.”

The White House further said, the investment will:

  1. Support Israel’s defense against terrorism
  2. Defend Ukraine against Russian aggression
  3. Provide life-saving humanitarian assistance for innocent civilians in Ukraine, Israel and Gaza
  4. Strengthen security in the Indo-Pacific
  5. Ensure our military readiness
  6. Provide alternatives to coercive People’s Republic of China’s financing in developing countries
  7. Strengthen border security and enforcement
