United States (US) President, Joe Biden, has expressed his sadness following the explosion at Al Ahli Arab hospital in Gaza on Tuesday 17 October, 2023.
Palestinian officials blame Israeli airstrikes for the explosion at the hospital as they confirm that hundreds have been killed.
However, Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, has said, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has nothing to do with the explosion that hit the Gaza hospital, adding, “the brutal terrorists” should be held responsible.
President Biden said: “I am outraged and deeply saddened by the explosion at the Al Ahli Arab hospital in Gaza, and the terrible loss of life that resulted. Immediately upon hearing this news, I spoke with King Abdullah II of Jordan, and Prime Minister Netanyahu of Israel and have directed my national security team to continue gathering information about what exactly happened.
“The United States stands unequivocally for the protection of civilian life during conflict and we mourn the patients, medical staff and other innocents killed or wounded in this tragedy.”
The US President landed in Israel today, Wednesday 18 October, 2023 to “show solidarity” to Israel as it defends itself against Hamas.
