The US President said, “I’m proud to be in Israel to honour the commitment and bravery of the Israeli people.”
The fighting between Hamas and Israel started in the morning of Saturday 7 October, 2023 after Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel, killing hundreds of Israelis and taking several others hostage.
On Tuesday 17 October, 2023, a huge explosion at Al Ahli Arab hospital in Gaza killed hundreds, as disclosed by Palestinian officials.
The Palestinian officials are pointing accusing fingers towards Israel following retaliatory airstrikes on Gaza.
However, PM Netanyahu, has said, the explosion at the hospital in Gaza has nothing to do with the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), adding, “the brutal terrorists struck the hospital”.
President Biden said: “I’m proud to be in Israel to honor the courage, commitment, and bravery of the Israeli people.
“Americans are grieving with you following last week’s terror attacks.
“I spoke with Prime Minister Netanyahu regarding the situation on the ground, security assistance and humanitarian needs, and information on unaccounted Americans.
“I asked tough questions as a friend of Israel. We will continue to deter any actor wanting to widen this conflict.”
