Presidential Election Tribunal: Gbajabiamila, Shettima, Abure, others in court

Today, Wednesday 6 September, 2023, the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) has resumed sitting to deliver its final judgments in the suits challenging the victory of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the February 25 elections.

2023 Presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was declared winner of the 2023 Presidential Election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The 2023 Presidential Election was conducted on Saturday 25 February, 2023.

The outcome of the exercise has been challenged in court by the Labour Party (LP), alongside its 2023 Presidential candidate, Peter Obi; the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), alongside its 2023 Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar; as well as other Parties and their respective 2023 Presidential candidates.

The Court of Appeal, Nigeria, had earlier announced it will deliver its final judgment on the petitions before it on Wednesday 6 September, 2023.

Present at the court as the final judgment is being delivered include; Vice President of Nigeria, Kashim Shettima, Chief Of Staff (COS) to President Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP), Barrister Julius Abure, among others.
