On Sunday 24 September, 2023, ten-man Chelsea fell by a lone goal to Aston Villa in the Premier League 2023/24 match at Stamford Bridge.
The fall at home piles more misery on Chelsea as their extremely poor start to the new season lingers.
In the 58th minute, Blues’ Malo Gusto was shown a red card and reduced Mauricio Pochettino’s side to ten; the Villans capitalized and took the lead in the 73rd minute through Ollie Watkins from a very tight position.
Chelsea have amassed only five (5) points and sit on the 14th spot, while Aston Villa have twelve (12) points and sit on the 6th spot, both from six (6) matches.
