Morocco will observe three (3) days of mourning after the North African country suffered a huge 6.8 magnitude earthquake on the night of Friday 8 September, 2023.

This was announced on Saturday 9 September, 2023 by the Royal Palace.
At half-staff on all public structures, flags will be flown, according to a statement issues by the Palace.
Over 1,300 lives have been lost.
