The Argentina international has trained at Carrington ahead of kick-off, with the Reds looking to build on the opening victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday.
Erik ten Hag spoke after the game and suggested his reason for withdrawing the centre-back at half-time of the 1-0 victory was primarily because both he and left-back Luke Shaw were on yellow cards and Wolves were offering a threat on the counter down that flank.
However, the defender was also thought to have taken a knock during the opening 45 minutes.
When asked if Martinez is available, during his pre-match press conference, Ten Hag replied: “He was just training [on Thursday], so I think so. Yeah.”manutd.com
